Is This the Perfect Time to Refresh Your Goals?

Smarter and Harder

Many people like to pick certain dates or times of year to set new goals, like birthdays or new years resolutions.

Milestones and dates like these are great times to step back and think about the next chapter in one's life.

If you use times like these as a reminder to think about your goals, that's great!  But it's important to remember that they aren't the only options.

In addition to setting goals, it's also crucial to be flexible in how you check in and re-evaluate your goals and progress.

There's no one right time for checking in on goals and dreams, and treating it like there is can be quite limiting.

For instance, the biggest problem with new years' resolutions is that many of us only think about them once a year. A lot can change in a year!

Reliable progress towards goals requires a flexible, realistic approach. Keeping your goals in mind and adjusting them as you go is critical.

So whether you set new goals on your birthday, the first day of spring, or a random Tuesday in June, what matters most is you do it at a time that suits you.

Today is as good a day as any to sit down and think about what you most want to accomplish next, or see how you're doing on existing goals.

And of course, make sure to come back around to check in on your progress often and decide if it's time to check them off, keep going, or pivot.
