The Long Term Power of Short Term Goals

When thinking about goals in the context of personal development, much of our focus often goes to major, sweeping, long-term goals.

But over time, the collective impact of small, manageable goals can be at least as powerful as the massive ones.

Short-term goals can even be a huge help in reaching major long-term goals by keeping us on the right track.

It's great to have big dreams, and a vision for where you want to take your life. But losing track of the present can come at quite a cost.

Day-to-day goals help to manage the chaos of everyday life, maintain a sense of purpose, and make progress towards the bigger picture.

Plus, it's always helpful to have a sense for the progress you make along the way, and celebrate those small wins to build momentum and excitement.

There are different types of short-term goals, such as simple to-dos or objectives that make up one component of a larger project or initiative.

A happy, thriving life relies on a balance of long-term and short-term goals. It's great to know where you want to be in five years, but not at the cost of knowing what you want right now.

So don't forget to make room for the little goals that help form the big picture of your life. Set reachable  targets, and then celebrate each win!
